We are pleased to announce that four-star Chef George Morrone, widely acclaimed as one of the best chefs in the country has joined us as Executive Chef, accompanied by our new Chef de Cuisine, Joe Gentempo. Both chefs are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N. Y.
Chef Morrone is best known in the Bay Area for opening Aqua with his friend and partner, Michael Minna. As co-owner and chef, he earned a four-star review for his innovative seafood creations. After Aqua, Chef Morrone moved on to other projects, including reuntiing with Bradley Ogden at One Market Restaurant, before helping to create the Fifth Floor restaurant which opened to acclaim with another four-star review.
About joining the Corinthian, where he will over-see both the Corinthian's fabulous event venue, which is open to the public, and the private member's dining room, Chef Morrone has said,"I'm not coming here to create a stuffy, pretentious dining experience. We're going to have great food options that fit in with culture and tradition of the club. Food choices will be fun, fresh and seasonal, and always approachable." Along the way he will be creating new menus for both member's dining and Private Events.
Chef de Cuisine, Joe Gentempo comes to us from San Francisco's "Hog and Rocks" restaurant where he has previously worked with Chef Morrone on special cooking events over the last year. Chefs George and Joe are truly exceptional chefs, friendly, outgoing and anxious to create a remarkable dining experience for your event.
